SS2019 Splash Silicone Rubber Clothing

'Splash' is a collection made of silicone rubber, a versatile material the designer has been using to create her sci-fi ambience concepts since 2014. The designer developed a special molding-casting technology to construct her silicone garments. The pieces created are highly eco-friendly as there is no waste during the creative process and they are also waterproof and easy-to-clean. The title "splash' refers to the technology, which involves injecting water between layers of silicone.

Cocle

This design is made from rubber rings by a special weaving technique suitable for annular materials. It can weave rubber rings together to be a reticular fabric and convert them into wearable designs but not cause any damage to the annular structure that all the materials inside the fabric are intact and can be reused. In addition, It does not require professional skill and special tools that even laymen without any weaving experience can easily use this craft. Everyone can knit his own clothes easily by this way.

Turquerie

Turquerie places the Ottoman Empire inspiration into a modern background, for an eclecticism of styles with an ethnic influence. The materials used, such as jacquard, velvet and chiffon, create both chromatic and rigidity contrasts, thus adorning the simple shapes and the clean lines. Made of six silhouettes, the collection gives a range of outfits to choose from. As for the campaign, the project puts together the author's Moldovan roots together with her passion for multiculturalism, for a rich blend of colour, print and texture.

Past at Last

The emphasis in the clothing compositions is on rich, playful textures and uneven coloration. As a consequence, the garments themselves are symmetrical, simple and closed forms without any demanding interventions to the structure. These objects examine the visual aspect, tactility, materiality, living motion and the architectonics of textiles. The colours are low in intensity and achromatic, except reds that pulsate within this pale spectrum.

Re Created

Collection creates a new aesthetic through waste and scrap from the sewing industry. Model design is born from a vivid combination of scraps, colours, proportions and textures. Each model is different and unique. The design reveals a variety of wear options, from a classic snug suit to oversize. Models created from pieces symbolize versatility and multiplicity of a person, inspiring users to rethink their values and re-create their self's. For the presentation, author chose a place that sometimes resembles new constructions and sometimes an apocalypse, which makes to rethink future scenarios.

The Growth Curve

The Growth Curve project carry out innovative experiments on the clothing structure, with fish bone as the support frame and elastic fabric used to wrap the surface, so that the clothing presents a 3D structure like "soft sculpture". At the same time, the clothing structure has the function of expansion and deformation, which can provide a variety of wearing methods for the wearer. The waste fabric produced in the process of clothing production is less, which is conducive to promoting the environmental protection and energy saving of the clothing industry.
