Broken Sovereign

Broken Sovereign is a womenswear collection of five looks inspired by Tang Dynasty dress and Malaysian Chinese culture. The jacket shape refers to a Tang Dynasty greeting pose. Wide Tang sleeves are combined with a trench coat to suggest layering and constraint. Neoprene is used for the jackets and coats, as the fabric holds shape and accepts digital printing. Suede is used for the vests, tops, skirts and dresses. Old garments are draped on a dummy to form new shapes. The bamboo print recalls a Hokkien festival and reminds younger generations not to forget their mother tongue.

Flatter Your Body

Flatter Your Body is a womenswear collection of six looks created to suit different body types. The collection reinterprets the corset, a garment that was historically uncomfortable to wear. Tightening or loosening the straps in selected areas allows the wearer to adjust the shape of the garment. Stripe prints and pleats add an optical illusion that supports the flattering effect. Light wool, cotton, and wool crepe are used for the spring and summer season.

Temperature

Color Change is a garment made from temperature-sensitive materials. The fabric changes color when it meets body heat, sunlight or the warmth of another person. Close contact such as a hug therefore becomes visible on the surface of the clothing. The pattern is cut to highlight the structural lines of the garment, and these lines are closed with adhesive tape. The tape does not react to temperature, so it stays fixed while the surrounding fabric shifts in color. The contrast between the two materials makes hidden changes in warmth easy to see.
